What activities can I do near the campsite?

Straddling two cantons: Saverne and Hanau La Petite Pierre, the place is rich in history, nature and culture. There are many different activities to do, according to your preferences, whether outdoors, discovering the local heritage, or enjoying the gastronomy of the region. Here are some ideas:

Iis the campsite eco-friendly?

  • The campsite's sanitary facilities are equipped with water-saving devices (taps or timed pressure showers).
  • We provide selective sorting bins (plastic, glass, paper, etc.)
  • Our campsite is very wooded, offering shade during the hottest periods. With respect for nature and to preserve biodiversity, we practice differentiated mowing (no clear-cutting with care to leave the flowers and corners unmowed as far as possible, mulching).
  • We try to limit light pollution as much as possible. The campsite is not very lit at night, so as not to disturb the insects. Don't forget to take your torches and enjoy a beautiful starry sky.
  • If you want to come to us using a more sustainable mode of transport, we will show you all the possibilities in the answer to the question What are the means of transport to get to the campsite?

We have put in place several elements to limit the waste of water and energy. But to make it all work, we need you.

Are there mosquitoes at the campsite?

We have never had a big problem with mosquitoes. Probably thanks to bats. But if you are allergic to the bites of mosquitoes, bees, wasps, spiders or other insects, take your usual medication with you. Remember, we are in the middle of nature, near to the forest. It’s home to little critters that fly, climb or hop ...

Are there snakes at the campsite?

Yes, but rather rare. You may encounter the ring-necked snake, the smooth snake or the orvets (which are lizards in reality). They are not venomous and do not seek your company at all.
